One of the most iconic pieces from my Venice series, this painting captures the energy and movement of one of the city’s busiest spots. Despite the crowds, I found a small space to set up and began working, focusing first on the bridge’s arch. It wasn’t until a gondola passed beneath that the composition truly came to life.
I kept the figures leaning over the bridge minimal—just a few colour notes to suggest presence—allowing the scene to remain abstract and expressive.
Framed in a bespoke solid wood moulding and ready to hang, this piece offers a bold and abstract glimpse into the heart of Venetian life.
