About
I'M PASSIONATE ABOUT PRODUCING WORK WHICH IS HEAVILY ROOTED IN OBSERVATION AND I THRIVE ON THE ACT OF LOOKING, ANALYSING AND TRYING TO UNDERSTAND THE WORLD AROUND ME

Andrew is an oil painter based in South Yorkshire
“I love to paint the ordinary, analysing simple subjects that will encourage the viewer to look more closely at the many wonderful and beautiful things surrounding us daily.”
In 2019, Andrew became a full member of the Royal Institute of Oil Painters. He studied Fine Art Painting at the University of Canterbury Christ Church from 2005 to 2008, where he earned a First-Class Honours degree. He then pursued a postgraduate course titled “The Drawing Year” at the Royal Drawing School in London from 2008 to 2009.
Andrew primarily works with oils, and his subjects range from deeply personal family scenes to rural and urban landscapes and portraiture.
He states, “I’m passionate about producing work which is heavily rooted in observation, and I thrive on the act of looking, analysing, and trying to understand the world around me.”
Since first exhibiting with the Royal Institute Of Oil Painters in 2014, Andrew has been awarded 1st and 2nd prize Winsor and Newton Award for painting, and in 2019 the Menena Joy Schabe Memorial Award.
Artistic background
Born on October 16, 1985, in Rotherham, South Yorkshire, I embarked on my artistic journey at Church View College in Doncaster, where I was awarded Distinctions for both my National Diploma in Fine Art and my Foundation in Art and Design. I further honed my skills at Canterbury Christ Church University between 2005 and 2008, graduating with a First Class Degree in Fine Art Painting. My passion for art led me to London, where I obtained a Post-Graduate Certificate from The Royal Drawing School.
