Original Paintings by  South Yorkshire Artist

Andrew Farmer ROI

Raised amidst the rolling hills and tranquil landscapes of South Yorkshire, I forged a profound connection with nature that continues to shape my artistic expression. The ever-changing beauty of my surroundings provides an endless well of inspiration, each season and moment of the day offering a new palette to explore. As an oil painter, I am drawn to capturing the subtle interplay of light and colour, weaving texture into each brushstroke. While my subjects are varied, it is the act of painting en plein air—immersed in the natural world—that truly ignites my creative spirit.

If you are a seasoned art collector or a first time buyer my portfolio offers a range of options, from smaller and modest works to feature pieces and commissioned art.

Spring Still Life In The Studio

This oil painting of a daffodil captures the vibrant essence of spring with its rich, golden petals gracefully unfurling in the light. I allowed my brushstrokes to bring texture and depth to the delicate flowers. The play of light and shadow on the daffodil’s curves highlights its natural beauty, evoking feelings of renewal and hope.

I’m currently working on a number of other Spring still life paintings which I’ll look forward to sharing in my online store very soon.

Collector Reviews

“As a first time buyer of original art and following a few searches online I happened upon Andrew’s work and immediately fell in love with his painting. Contact with Andrew and the process of buying this piece was then a pleasure. Money changed hands and the picture arrived as promised, packaged safely and lovingly and ready to frame. Simple, no hard sell and actual contact with its creator (it was good to talk and discuss the picture with Andrew). It now occupies a place on our wall that was crying out for something beautiful and it has fulfilled the brief so well. This was my first but wont be my last “Andrew Farmer” and I couldn’t recommend him and the process more. Thank you.”

“When I first discovered Andrew’s work I was immediately fascinated by his use of light and shade. To me his work evokes the sights and sense of the North Yorkshire coast. His eye for the essence of his subject takes me there in a way that I have rarely experienced previously through a visual medium. I have spent many years holidaying in Whitby and so, last year I commissioned a painting from Andrew depicting Whitby Abbey. I am genuinely delighted with the result and look forward to Andrew’s future work.”

“I stumbled across Andrew’s work quite by accident but am now the proud owner of four original paintings and one print. All of my pieces relate in some way to the Cusworth area which is somewhere dear to my heart but I was particularly drawn to Andrew’s work because of his expressive use of colour, light and movement. My favourite piece is called “evening at the gate” where the warm evening sunset is captured perfectly as it reflects across the gate house at Cusworth Hall. Andrew’s work makes me (and those that have viewed my expanding collection) appreciate the beauty and interest of the area we live in and how lucky we are to have a talented and friendly local artist using it as his subject.”
